HP Pavilion Slimline s3130.sc memory upgrade Read here before you upgrade memory: hardforum.com Please read post #1 in HardForum that I link to above. Here you will read this for the M2NC51-AR (HematiteXL-GL8E) board: “Supports 4GB of RAM in 2x2GB configuration according to Novak” Find Novak’s post, and you’ll read, that after BIOS upgrade, the board will support 2 x 2 GB. BIOS 5.07 for M2NC51-AR (always download BIOS from official sites): h10025.www1.hp.com I installed 2 x 2 GB, and all 4 GB showes up in Windows as shown in the video. *Note* You’ll need a 64 Bit version of windows to make use of all the 4 GB. *WATT* My GFX is Sapphire Radeon HD 4350, 512MB DDR2. Be aware of WATT used by GFX and WATT output from PSU! It should be possible to change the PSU and increase the WATT, but you will need a special adaptor to Microfit-ATX, or DIY. Changing the PSU, se this video (read the comment): www.youtube.com *Micro-Fit ATX adapter* ATXPowerSupplies: www.atxpowersupplies.com Amazon: www.amazon.com *WiFi* Original WiFi could be replaced with this (internal USB) www.itwinkle.com

why are u changing the ram..for what??

it could also be the motherboard or a part of the hardware on the motherboard. If no power is drawn from the PSU, it won’t turn on.

All PSU’s got a short-swich that will enable power on without it beeing connected to a motherboard. Try this first. I have no idear wich connectors to short circuit.

Have you ever had the problem where the every time you try to turn on the pc, the power LED just flashes amber and blue? I have this problem and I reckon it’s the power supply gone bust

  4. DaniellRosenlund says:

Well, the original can be replaced with this one (internal USB)
Google for: “HP 5070-2026 BlueJay 802.11 b/g wi-fi wireless USB 2.0 Adapter Module Kit”
I’m shure you can find others alike.

Otherwise, if you want PCI, any card with low/half profile would fit.
Please note, it only got one PCI Express x16 and one PCI.
In the PCI Express x16 you might already have a GPU-card.
In the PCI it originally shipped with an analog TV-tuner. Look inside to se if it’s free.

Do you know any wireless cards that’ll fit in this thispc?

@firebrand15: You can always add a psu with more watt. No problem there. It’s only when the psu has too little watt, that you’ve got a problem.

Hi Im just wondering I have a acer aspire X1300 and it looks very similar to this, I was wondering can I change the psu and cae to fit a good low end video card as I wasnt sure if you can just go around putting psu’s on mother board or if some only take a cirtain wattage or they blow

Very helpful…I couldn’t figure out how to get at the optical fix screw, which prevented the drive from moving forward to access the memory slots. Thanks so much!

i have the same pc and in the hpsite (as you can see i put the link) it’s clear that the maximum value of ram it’s 2GB, 2X1GB. How many GB did you put doing this upgrade? does the pc recognize that memory? does it work?

  20. DaniellRosenlund says:

No, any other borad won’t fitt. The case is not standard sized, but you might find one that does fitt, but i didn’t.
The M2NC51-AR board is 19 cm (7.5 inch) x 17 cm (6.7 inch). Untill now, I havn’t found one that stays inside that range.
Also another place for the CPU on another board might make it impossible to have the optical drive installed.

can you change the mobo for any other micro atx mobo with this case?
